Iran Acting FM Meets Iraqi Officials

Iraq (IP) - Iran's Acting Foreign Minister in a joint press conference with the Iraqi Foreign Minister said that the Islamic Republic would not let the Israeli regime disturb the security of the region.

Iran Press/ West Asia: Ali Bagheri Kani left Tehran for Baghdad on Thursday at the head of a senior political delegation for a two-day trip to meet with high-ranking Iraqi officials.

Holding a press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussain in Baghdad on Thursday, He said both countries have a common view that the Israeli regime’s genocide in Gaza should stop.

Ali Bagheri Kani said that the Israeli regime may decide to compensate for its failure in Gaza by extending the war to other countries. 

Bagheri Kani referred to Operation True Promise against the Israeli regime and said that Iran used its capability to punish the aggressor, the Israeli regime, stressing that it would not let the regime disturb the region's peace and security. 

The Iranian acting FM said that the Israeli regime showed that it is the source of insecurity and tension in the region and called for the interaction of the regional countries to keep the region safe and secure. 

He pointed to the US support for Israel in the war on Gaza and stated that the US could not on one hand provide the Israeli regime with advanced weapons and pretend to seek peace through a political solution, on the other hand. 

The US had better stop sending military aid to the Israeli regime if it was decisive to stop the regime's genocidal war on Gaza, Bagheri Kani noted.  

The Iranian Acting FM said the Islamic Republic and Iraq have a common stance toward Palestine and Gaza that is the Genocidal war on the Strip must be immediately stopped and humanitarian aid enter the city. 

After meeting with and participating in a joint press conference with, Fuad Hussein, Foreign Minister of Iraq, Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister met and held talks with Iraqi president Abdul Latif Rashid on Thursday.

Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani upon his arrival at Baghdad airport was officially welcomed by Mohammad Hossein Bahrul Uloom, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iraq.

Bagheri Kani also paid tribute to Martyr Let Gen Qasem Soleimani and Martyr Abu Ali Al-Muhandis by visiting the memorial site of Resistance Ledaders' Martyrdom near Baghdad airport.
