Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei addressed the latest developments in Tehran's foreign policy in a weekly meeting with reporters.
Big Picture: Speaking on regional developments such as the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, he stated, "Our positions have been articulated in a formal statement." Baghaei highlighted the ceasefire in Gaza as a testament to the triumph of determination, resistance, and perseverance against occupation and injustice.
These crimes would not have been possible without the support of the United States and several Western countries, which spared no effort in the military, political, and media spheres to strengthen this regime and continue its crimes.
What Iran's MFA Spokesman is Saying:
In response to a question about the talks in Geneva and some of the topics raised about whether Iran's missile program was discussed in these talks, he clarified that Iran has never discussed military capabilities with anyone and will never discuss them. If these issues are raised in these discussions, our response is clear.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman further remarked, "The prospect of withdrawing from the NPT is not a novel concern. During the 12th government, we unequivocally communicated that any attempt to utilize the trigger mechanism as a means of coercion to elicit concessions from Iran will be met with a commensurate response. It has been explicitly articulated that the misuse of this mechanism would nullify any basis for Iran to uphold certain existing agreements. This stance has been previously articulated."
Go Deeper: Over the past four years, discussions have persisted indirectly, even when the US was not part of the JCPOA, with ongoing engagements under the Democratic administration, including the Muscat process. Our stance on negotiations and dialogue across different matters remains consistent and transparent.
