Iran marks 50th anniversary of Ramsar Convention

Ramsar(IP): February 3, 2021, marked the 50th anniversary of the ratification of the International Convention on Wetlands and the Protection of Migratory Birds in Ramsar.

Iran Press/Iran news:  According to Iran Press News Agency, on this occasion and to commemorate this day, the ceremony was held in the presence of the head of the Natural Resources Department and the Ghaemshahr NGO Network (Nature and Health Center, Sustainable Development Association and Ghaemshahr Mountaineers Association, etc.) in Qadikola Wetland.

At first, " Dabir Bagherzadeh” while commemorating the name and memory of the late Iskander Firooz, the Ramsar International Convention founder, which is considered the first international treaty on wetlands and protection of migratory birds.

Then Dr. Rahimi, head of the Ghaemshahr Department of Natural Resources, elaborated on the importance and conservation of wetlands, including Qadikla wetland, and explained more about this ecosystem's impact on the region.
