Tehran (IP)- The foreign ministers of Iran and Kenya discussed the latest bilateral ties and ways to develop them in a telephone conversation on Tuesday.

Iran PressIran news: Iranian FM Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Keniyan counterpart Alfred Mutua discussed the latest bilateral issues, seeking to develop ties between the two countries.

Iran seeks to strengthen its foreign policy by exploring the African market as a viable opportunity for exporting its goods. Developing ties with the continent is a priority for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Iranian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of African countries in the foreign policy of Raisi's administration and highlighted the capacities available in the two countries.

As Amir-Abdollahian said in the telephone talk, the Islamic Republic of Iran strives to maintain a balanced foreign policy approach to foster comprehensive ties with African nations like Kenya.

Kenya's Mutua, for his part, expressed its country's satisfaction with the visit of the Iranian President to the East African region, which will be started from Kenya, and said that Nairobi, the capital and largest city of Kenya, is interested in expanding ties with Tehran in various fields. 

Mutua further appreciated inking finalized cooperation documents between the two countries. 

The Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, will embark on a tour of East Africa, including visits to Kenya, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
