Iran Press/ Europe: On Monday, Mohammad Javad Zarif met with Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Luigi Di Maio in Rome, noting: "Given the positive view of Iranian people on cooperation with the Italian parties, the obstacles to resuming economic relations in favor of the two countries must be removed."
He explained the principled view of the Islamic Republic of Iran on holding a referendum with the participation of all Palestinians of all faiths and religions, and once again condemned the actions of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people.
Issues related to cooperation with the Persian Gulf states and regional arrangements by the countries in this region, issues related to Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq, and the latest developments related to the Vienna talks were other topics that the Iranian Foreign Minister addressed during the meeting.
The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed his country's desire to expand bilateral cooperation with Iran, especially in the political, economic, and cultural fields.
The Italian Foreign Minister also supported the full implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA )by all parties, calling for the active exchange of views and consultations with the Islamic Republic of Iran on important regional and international issues.
Zarif has previously traveled to Spain and met the country's foreign and industry ministers.
He was also scheduled to pay a visit to Vienna, which he canceled in protest of the Austrian government's move to hoist the Israeli flag over the Austrian Chancellery and Foreign Ministry.
