Iranian and Iraqi officials explored ways to efficiently address the issue of dust storms bothering the regional countries.

Iran PressMiddle East: Iranian Vice-President Ali Salajegheh and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, in a meeting in Baghdad on Sunday, stressed the need to tackle the dust problem.

Salajegheh who is also the head of the Department of Environment underlined the urgency of responding to the issues of drought and dust storms.

He called for further cooperation between Iran and Iraq and other regional countries so as to be able to deal with the environmental challenges in a way that will fairly benefit the interests of all the involved counties.  

Salajegheh stressed that all the regional countries are expected to do their contributions to the fight against environmental issues.

For his part, the Iraqi prime minister said that finding efficient solutions to environmental issues and stoppage of the negative impacts of climate change has now turned into a shared duty of all.
