Iran Press/Iran News: During a meeting with a group of Lebanese academics, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said, "Strengthening stability and security in Lebanon will certainly contribute to security in regional and global developments."
He described the response of the Resistance to the recent Zionist Regime aggressions as a new stage of resistance movements in maintaining security in Lebanon and the region.
"The Axis of Resistance has played a significant role in helping regional security and fighting terrorism and Zionism effectively and has always been a deterrent against Zionist aggression," Amir-Abdollahian said.
Describing the developments in the region, he stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly supports stability and peace in the region.
Amir-Abdollahian pointed to the positions of countries such as the United States and Saudi Arabia in the region, saying that given the developments in the region, and especially in the Arab countries such as Yemen and Syria, US and Saudi behavior has been inconsistent and unproductive.
He called for a change in Saudi policy toward Arab countries, saying Riyadh should distance itself from Israeli plans to invade Arab countries. "As an important country in the region, Saudi Arabia must take a constructive approach towards the Arab and Islamic countries," he added.
During the visit, the Lebanese university professors appreciated the support of the Iranian government and nation to the Lebanese people in various conditions.
They emphasized the importance of cooperation and development and expansion of relations between the two countries, and stressed the importance of the Islamic Republic of Iran's full support for the Lebanese government and nation in the international arena.
They expressed hope that scientific and technological cooperation between Iran and Lebanon would expand.
