Inaugurating Assaluyeh 1st combined steam unit Cycle power plant

Tehran (IP) - The first steam unit of Assaluyeh Combined Cycle Power Plant has been operationalized with an investment of 2,240 billion Tomans with a capacity of 160 MW on Thursday via video conference with the presence of the President and the Minister of Energy.

Iran PressIran news: Mohsen Tarztalab, the public relations officer of the thermal power company, said on Thursday that the steam unit of Assaluyeh Combined Cycle Power Plant has been made operational through an investment of 2,240 billion Toumans, while more than 85% of the equipment used in the project has been built by domestic manufacturers.

He continued: "2,300 people have been working directly and indirectly during the construction of this project, increasing the efficiency of the power plant to about 50%, providing sustainable electricity to the national grid, reducing environmental pollutants, increasing the efficiency of electricity production and annual savings of 846 million cubic meters of fossil fuel are important features of this project."

The public relations officer of the thermal power generation company estimated the total capacity of Assaluyeh power plant as 1,452 MW and said: "The power plant includes 6 gas units and three steam units, the efficiency of the gas section of the power plant will be 30.9% and the total efficiency of Assaluyeh combined cycle power plant will be 44.9%."

The power plant is located at 25 km of Assaluyeh-Parsian road in Bushehr province.
