Omani foreign minister Yusuf bin Alawi who is visiting Tehran met with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday.

Iran PressIran news: This is the third time that bin Alawi has visited Tehran in the past 9 months.

The Omani foreign minister is in Tehran to discuss bilateral, regional and international affairs including Iran’s Hormuz Peace Endeavor (HOPE) and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with senior officials in Tehran.

The HOPE Initiative was proposed by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani at the annual meeting of the UN General Assembly this year.

The initiative aims to promote peace, stability, progress, and prosperity of the Persian Gulf littoral states and help achieve mutual understanding and establish peaceful and friendly relations among the neighbours.


Yusuf bin Alawi also met parliament speaker Ali Larijani hours ago.
