  • AEOI emphasizes adherence to Leader's instructions

Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said it adhers to fulfill instructions by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on extensive scientific and strategic nuclear activities and reducing Iran's commitments to the 2015 nuclear deal.

Iran Press/Iran news: Atomic Energy Organization of Iran issued a statement on Wednesday in regard to the Leader's decisive instructions on reducing the Islamic Republic's obligations under the 2015 nuclear agreement known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the extensive scientific and strategic nuclear activities.

The statement comes in the wake of assertive instructions by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei that "the reduction of Iran's obligations under the JCPOA, which AEOI is responsible for carrying out the task will continue with full seriousness and precision to get the desired result."

The statement is as follows:

Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, with particular regard to the objectives and views of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on peaceful nuclear activities, while continuing to reduce the country's commitments to the Nuclear Agreement, with all its specialized scientific capability, facilities and equipment, and In full coordination with the honorable President and Chairman of the Supreme National Security Council, will continue to extensive scientific and strategic activities as well as the acquisition of new capabilities in various hardware and software areas within the framework of national laws and safeguards commitments to achieve the desired results.

"The reduction of a country's nuclear obligations based on the provisions of the nuclear agreement and in order to balance the country's obligations to the benefits of the agreement is legal and there is no breach of obligations," the statement added.

The statement went on to say, "As the Islamic regime officials have repeatedly pointed out, the Islamic Republic of Iran will return to full compliance of the agreement if the parties to the Nuclear Agreement honor their commitments and implement them."

"We are confident that just as international officials and experts have been amazed at AEOI's prestigious achievements such as the production of 20% nuclear fuel, they will be stunned by the new achievements of Iranian experts in the field of peaceful nuclear technology in the near future," the statement concluded.
