Iran Press/ Middle East: The sixth meeting of the Assembly of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF) will be held on (Tuesday) in Doha, and the Islamic Republic of Iran will participate in this meeting at the highest level.

Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji, who traveled to Doha on Saturday evening to attend the Extraordinary Summit of the Assembly of Gas Exporting Countries and the Sixth Summit of the Assembly, met on Monday with Mohamed Hamel, Secretary-General of the Assembly of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF).
Oji also discussed expanding cooperation with the energy ministers of Algeria, Venezuela, Qatar, and Nigeria.
In these bilateral or multilateral talks, cooperation in areas such as gas swaps, technology transfer, technical knowledge, investment in oil and gas fields, and the like were discussed.
Iran is one of the largest gas producers in the world and one of the founders of GECF, which has been the Secretary-General of the Assembly for two terms.
Members of the Assembly of Gas Exporting Countries account for 44% of world gas production, 67% of world gas reserves, 64% of pipeline gas transmission, and 66% of liquefied natural gas (LNG) trade.
Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela are the 21 main GCIF members, with Malaysia, Norway, Iraq, Peru, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the UAE attending as observer members.
