Iran Press/ Iran news: "We have had at least one free election every year since the victory of the revolution in Iran," Amir Abdollahian noted, reiterating, " In Iran, we invite people to participate, but we do not apply punitive policies. While in many Western countries, if a person does not participate in the elections, they consider temporary social exclusions for him."
Minister Amir Abdollahian stated, " We have a high level of participation. In our region, it is one of the strongest democracies for Iran."
The foreign minister also said, "Democracy and human rights in Iran are rooted in our beliefs and civilization. Undoubtedly, democracy and human rights in Iran are far better than democracy and human rights in England. If you don’t believe in this matter and in the participation of the Iranian people in determining their destiny, I invite you to come and see for yourself on Friday."
In an interview with Channel 4 News regarding ceasefire negotiations in Gaza, Amir Abdollahian expressed Iran's support for halting the genocide in Gaza. He emphasized that Iran has consistently maintained that war is not the solution to the Israeli regime's attacks on Gaza and the West Bank and must be stopped as soon as possible.
Amir Abdollahian also mentioned a recent meeting with Hamas leaders and other Palestinian resistance groups, where progressive ideas were proposed to ensure Palestinian rights, alter the course of the conflict, and enhance regional security.
According to the Iranian foreign minister, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is seeking a temporary ceasefire solely to address his issues. Netanyahu is not considering a lasting truce because he understands that it would result in the end of his extreme government and his tenure.
