Tehran(IP) - The Deputy Tourism Minister of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism announced Iran's membership as a founding member of the Silk Road 2023 International Tourism Cities Alliance.

Iran PressIran news: According to Iran Press, "Ali Asghar Shalbafian", Deputy Minister of Tourism of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, referring to the international alliance of Silk Road tourism cities in 2023, said: "This alliance, which started its work yesterday Friday, was formed at the initiative of the Chinese government. and 57 cities from 26 countries are present in it, and it is possible to recruit new members.

Referring to the presence of Semnan province as Iran's representative in the international alliance of Silk Road tourist cities in 2023, Shalbafan added: "This presence provides an opportunity for the Islamic Republic of Iran to introduce its tourism capacities with an emphasis on Silk Road and Semnan and to announce its future plans regarding hosting the member mayors of this alliance."

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of Iran, listed establishing joint cooperation in the field of tourism between the countries of the Silk Road on land and sea, facilitating the promotion of the local tourism industry and sustainable development, sharing experiences in the field of products related to the Silk Road, improvement and promotion of the Silk Road brand as one of the goals of this alliance.

The Silk Road or Silk Road was a network of interconnected roads with the purpose of trade in Asia that connected East West and South Asia to North Africa and Eastern Europe, a route that was the largest trade network in the world for 1,700 years until the 15th century.
