Iran Press/ Iran News: In response to the claims of some Western officials about Iran's delay in returning to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Mahmoud Abbaszadeh-Meshkini stated on Monday: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has not boycotted returning to the JCPOA, but the ball is in the West's court; returning to the JCPOA is for those who have left it or have shrugged off their commitments and are ashamed."
He pointed out that in the new situation, it is Iran that should set the conditions for the other side.
He also noted that if the EU intends to mediate between P4+1 and Iran, it should assume that all the blame for the stalemate is on the United States and European troika (European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund).
Abbaszadeh underlined that lifting sanctions and implementing the JCPOA-related commitments by the United States and Europe is the first, Not the last step in starting negotiations.
