Iran Press/ Iran news: "Dealing with law-breaking citizens is the natural right of all governments but detention of citizens with claims of connection with Iran is unacceptable," Iran's foreign ministry spokesman stated.
He underlined that citizens of Azerbaijan are arrested under false pretenses when they do not have any official or unofficial relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Pointing out the deep Iran-Azerbaijan relations, he stated that the government of Azerbaijan should not attribute such false claims to its neighbors and that the historical ties between Iran and Azerbaijan should not be under the shadow of political decisions.
