Iran Press/America: Ali Hajilari on Wednesday addressed a meeting of the Committee on International Trade and Economic Issues.
The Iranian diplomat censured the report by the Secretary-General on "Unilateral economic measures as a means of political and economic coercion against developing countries" as disappointing and weak.
The General Assembly has requested the Secretary-General to continue to monitor the imposition of such measures, to study their impact on the affected countries, and to report to the Assembly.
The report reflects the replies of the Member States and selected international organizations to the note verbale sent by the Secretary-General requesting pertinent information. The report also includes additional data collected by the Secretariat.
