The head of Iran's Civil Defense Organization said the US battlefield against Iran has got shrunk, and since last year, we have been facing new methods of threats, which are the combination of all the tools that the Americans have been using against our nation.

Iran Press/Iran News: Delivering a speech prior to Friday Prayer's sermons, Brigadier General Gholamreza Jalali said the US has waged hybrid threats against Iran since 2018, using all of the threats including political, economic, security, and cyber layers.

General Jalali then unfolded the very layers starting with the political one which, he said, was manifested in the US withdrawal from Iran's international nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) along with putting maximum pressure on Iran and keeping the country in the deal through its European allies, Iran Press reported.

Brigadier General Jalali noted that US President Donald Trump’s unilateral withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal was the US’ first step in increasing the political pressure on Iran.

Regarding to the security layer, he noted that the US tried to intimidate the Iranian nation by creating a shadow of war to terrify the nation and create division.

"In the economic layer, the enemy seeks to intensify sanctions, although there is no sanction to be imposed by the enemy anymore," General Jalali unfolded the economic layer, "but sanctions can help to fertilize and reinforce economy and foster a prosperous economic environment with reliance on a country's internal capabilities."

Still with regards to cyber threats the General said that the US, which itself suffered from multiple weaknesses in the cyberspace tried to threaten Iran with cyber attacks, the new option of which was also tackled successfully by the Iranian experts, asserting that the country’s facilities have been secured against such threats.

Following the shooting down of the US surveillance drone over the Strait of Hormuz, US media cited of unnamed sources as reporting that President Donald Trump had approved a cyber-attack on the Iranian computer systems that are used to control rockets and missile launches.

The head of Civil Defense referred to the active resistance strategy offered by the Leader of Islamic Revolution and pointed to the gradual reductions in commitments to the JCPOA under the deal, popularization of defense and active resistance, and the separation of people from the enemies in protests, as the important parts of this strategy.

He referred to the most basic strategic achievements and asymmetrical deterrence against enemies as the first one, and underscored, "When the enemy's spy drone was down and the enemy has no military option to respond, it shows that our active resistance strategy has worked out."

General Jalali said the active resistance strategy adopted by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution means aerial, ground, and marine firm military defense.
