Secretary-General of Iran's Drug Control Headquarters Brigadier General Eskandar Momeni outlined the objectives of his visit to China to bolster bilateral ties in the fight against narcotics.

Iran Press/Iran news: "I came to Beijing at the invitation of the Minister of Public Security, with the aim of expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of anti-drugs, exchange of experiences as well as equipment needed to combat drugs," Momeni said.

"In addition, I will meet with the Minister of Public Security, the director of China National Narcotics Control."

"I will also visit the treatment centers, addiction treatment facilities, and customs departments," he added.

As the two countries have common perspectives in the field of drugs, the Iranian official said, enhancing cooperation and exchange of experiences is one of the main goals of the visit.

"We also need to coordinate about the Untied Nations upcoming Commission on Narcotic Drugs meeting" which is going to be held in Vienna, Austria in February, he said.
