Iran Press/ Iran News: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a phone call with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein on Thursday morning and called for taking serious measures to streamline the entry of Iranian pilgrims to Iraq via land and air as well as facilitation of entry of Afghan and Pakistani nationals who want to travel to Iraq through Iranian soil.
Expressing his gratitude toward the hospitality of the people and government of Iraq to Arbaeen pilgrims, Fuad Hussein promised to pursue the issue aimed at facilitation of entry of pilgrims to Iraq for Arbaeen March.
The Iraqi foreign minister considered the recent visit of the Iranian interior minister to Baghdad as a suitable and good opportunity to closely pursue the pertinent affairs and establish necessary coordination in this respect.
In response to the question asked by the Iranian foreign minister, he pointed to his recent talk with his Saudi counterpart regarding the cooperation for releasing the detained Iranian citizen during the Hajj pilgrimage and expressed hope that suitable conditions would be provided for the release of the Iranian citizen as soon as possible.
During the phone call, Iranian and Iraqi foreign ministers also mulled over the latest trend of negotiations for removing anti-Iran sanctions.
