The Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan said that the common historical, cultural and religious roots of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan have forever turned the borders of the two countries into borders of peace and friendship.

Iran Press/ Asia: In response to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's remarks on Tuesday, Iran's ambassador to Azerbaijan Seyed Abbas Mousavi in his tweet said: "the common historical, cultural and religious roots of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan made the borders of the two countries as borders of peace and friendship.'

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, during his visit to the common border with Iran, referred to this border as the border of friendship.

Earlier, in a telephone conversation with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the President of Azerbaijan called the relationship with Iran a strategic one for his country, saying: "Tehran-Baku relations have always been expanding in recent years, and Baku welcomes the development of these relations."
