Tehran (IP) - In a phone conversation, the heads of the National Security Councils of Russia and Iran conferred on boosting bilateral security cooperation.

Ali Akbar Ahmadian, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) of Iran held a phone conversation with Sergei Shoigu, head of the National Security Council of Russia on Tuesday.

Shoigu expressed his condolences to the government and people of Iran over the tragic martyrdom of the late president and his companions and expressed his sympathy on the part of the Russian government to the Iranian government.

The Russian official emphasized the continuation of high-level cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

Ahmadian wished Sergei Shoigu success in his new post. The Iranian official announced readiness for the two National Security Councils to materialize the goals set by the leaders of the two countries in further improving relations.

The SNSC secretary also invited his Russian counterpart to visit Tehran. 219
