The comprehensive strategic partnership treaty between Russia and Iran signals that the two countries will not tolerate external pressure can ensure regional security, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated.

Iran Press/Europe: "Moscow and Tehran do not want outside forces to dictate their roles. We are fully capable of pursuing independent policies and are prepared to collaborate on enhancing security and economic development in the region, bringing peace and stability without needing the West," he said in an interview with the Soloviov Live television channel.

According to President Pezeshkian, the signing of the comprehensive strategic partnership treaty with Russia demonstrates that both nations share this perspective. He noted that if they were to follow external directives, "they would have changed their policies many times."

On January 17, Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran signed a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty following their discussions in the Kremlin.

The treaty encompasses all areas of bilateral cooperation and opens new avenues for collaboration in various sectors, including defense, counter-terrorism, energy, finance, transportation, industry, agriculture, culture, science, and technology.
