Iran Press/Asia: According to Iran Press News Agency from Islamabad, Pakistani Minister of Roads and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan hosted Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam in Islamabad on Friday. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral transit, transportation, and trade cooperation.
Referring to Pakistan's geopolitical and strategic position, Iranian ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam said in the meeting: Pakistan can become one of the key transit routes at the international level, and in this regard, Iran, using its special position and high capacities in the transportation sector and geographical location, can play an important role in facilitating the transit of goods and passengers between the two neighboring countries, as well as in the economic development of Pakistan.
Aleem Khan, Minister of Communications and Roads of Pakistan, also emphasized the importance of this country's traditional and brotherly relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the two countries' high geopolitical capacities and called for the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in all dimensions and sectors, especially in the field of transportation and transit.
Solving the problems of the movement of Iranian trucks into Pakistani territory and the issue of parking for "NLC" trucks in the country's territory were among the most important issues raised in this meeting. It has been announced that the officials of the two countries agreed to resolve these problems as soon as possible by forming a joint committee to follow up on issues related to transportation and transit. 204
