(IP) - The joint maritime rescue exercise was held in the northern Indian Ocean and the Strait of Hormuz with the presence of combat vessels and military units of Iran and Oman.

Iran PressIran news: The 11th edition of the naval exercise, dubbed 'Aid and Rescue,' was held on Thursday to improve combat preparedness in maritime security.

Combat vessels and flying units of the Iranian Navy, Air Force, IRGC Navy, the Ports and Maritime Organization, and the Navy of Oman were present in this joint military exercise.

In this one-day exercise, the helicopters of the two countries carried out observation and monitoring operations.  

The heads of the joint military friendship committee of the two countries were also present in the exercise. 

The presence of Iranian homegrown destroyer Dena and destroyer Sahand along with other surface combat units in this exercise manifested the self-sufficiency of Iran in the field of defense equipment. 219
