Iran Press/Europe: Following the political discussions between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Bosnia and Herzegovina after the meeting of the foreign ministers of the two countries on the sidelines of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations summit in Portugal, Mahmoud Heidari, Assistant to the Minister and Director General for Mediterranean and Eastern Europe of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman, Iran's ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, met with Momir Brajić, the assistant to Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina for bilateral affairs, to exchange views.
Mahmoud Heidari highlighted the historical and cultural ties between the two countries and Iran's support for the territorial sovereignty, independence, and peaceful coexistence of the ethnic groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasized Iran's readiness to expand relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina in all economic, commercial, political, and cultural fields.
He also stressed the necessity of activating existing mechanisms between the two countries, such as holding regular and continuous political consultations and joint economic commission meetings, describing the foreign ministries of both nations as drivers of bilateral relations.
The Bosnian side also highlighted the tourist attractions of both countries and put the signing of a tourism agreement between the two nations on the agenda for enhancing bilateral relations.
Momir Brajić also emphasized that, considering the economic potentials of Iran and Bosnia and Herzegovina, increasing the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries is essential for the future of their relations.
International and regional developments were also discussed by both parties.
The Iranian political delegation continued their meetings by visiting Husein ef. Kavazović, the Grand Mufti of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing the importance of expanding religious and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Iranian Delegation Meets Bosnian Ethnic Council
Assistant to the Minister and Director General for Mediterranean and Eastern Europe of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mahmoud Heidari, met with the Chair of the Foreign and External Trade Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina's House of Peoples at the Bosnian Parliament.

Highlighting the establishment of the Iran-Bosnia and Herzegovina Parliamentary Friendship Group in Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly, Heidari emphasized the role of parliaments in fostering economic, political, and cultural relations between the two countries, as well as the importance of parliamentary visits.
Safet Softić, acknowledging the unforgettable assistance from Iran to Bosnia and Herzegovina, welcomed the visit of a delegation from Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Iranian political delegation, visiting Sarajevo for the third round of political consultations, also met with the assistant to Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Grand Mufti of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
