Iran Press/Iran news: Mohsen Haji Mirzaei after the introduction ceremony will officially begin his duties as Education Minister.
Speaking at the ceremony Iran's First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri thanked and appreciated the efforts of the previous incumbents, former Education Minister Seyyed Mohammad Bathaei and former caretaker Education Minister, Seyyed Javad Hosseini, Iran Press reported.
Iranian government spokesman, Ali Rabiei, and senior staff and managers at the Education Ministry also took part in the welcoming introduction ceremony.
Mohsen Haji Mirzaei was approved in a vote of confidence by the Iranian parliament (Majlis) two weeks ago.
Speaking at the ceremony Haji Mirzaei referred to tough economic pressure on Iran for the past two years and said the economic pressures will never defeat the resilient Iranian nation.
Haji Mirzaei said the highly talented young Iranians will use their skills to create "added value for the country."
In further remarks, Haji Mirzaei said we must train and educate youngsters in schools throughout the country and we must teach them skills which will be useful to them throughout their lives.
The new education minister emphasized that securing financial resources is the main problem facing the education sector today, but he said the government had allotted a decent budget to the education ministry this year.
The new minister thanked his predecessors Seyyed Mohammad Bathaei and Seyyed Javad Hosseini for their tireless efforts at the ministry of education and said the ministry covers all parts of the country.
Mohsen Haji Mirzaei also emphasized that one of the main tasks of the education ministry is to train and educate people, teaching them useful skills, and giving them the opportunity for their abilities to flourish. 101/205/211
