Tehran (IP) - Ajit Doval, National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister of India met with Iran's Foreign Minister on Monday evening and discussed the issues of bilateral interest with him.

Iran PressIran news: Doval also met with his Iranian counterpart Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani before meeting with FM Amir-Abdollahian and exchanged views on political and security relations, especially bilateral and multilateral economic issues.

In his meeting with Admiral Shamkhani this morning, the Indian national security advisor said that independent countries should prepare for the expansion of regional cooperation and play an effective international role by recognizing the new global developments and at the same time strengthening their internal capabilities.

Doval emphasized the continuation of cooperation between New Delhi and Tehran to help stabilize Afghanistan and prevent the settlement of Takfiri terrorism in the country, as well as the formation of an inclusive Afghan government.

India is one of the main members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa).
