Tehran (IP) - Humanity has been facing one of its greatest historical developments since the beginning of the 20th century, according to the secretary of Iran's High Cyberspace Council Abol-Hassan Firoozabadi.

Iran Press/Iran news: "Different dimensions have been called for these developments and different names from different points of view, but I am talking from technology point of view," the secretary of the High Cyberspace Council, added in the opening ceremony of the National Technology Development Foundation.

"We are talking about emerging technologies and four scientific technologies - artificial intelligence, the internet of things, and data science, and most recently the blockchain, which has made unprecedented investments in these four technologies especially artificial intelligence and the technologies that they have generated," he continued according to Iran Press.

Elsewhere the official noted that in the theoretical field, what we are witnessing is that relationships of humans, societies, countries, organizations, and etc...that are being redefined. The human relationship with technology is being redefined. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, technology was being considered as a tool, but now it is being considered as an interactive. The most important thing now is globalization and the collapse of geographical boundaries, and the concept of boundaries are being redefined but will not disappear.

He also went on to say that "In the era of industrialization, the definition of the country was that a group of people in the land, where they reside could make their decisions, but now in the age of globalization, unilateral decisions are sometimes imposed on us and we accept them. But in the end, this process may bring us to a standstill and we can see its implications in UN institutions such as the Internet Governance Forum (IGF)."
