Tehran (IP) - The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) National Commission under the Ministry of Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran via a statement condemned the repeated insults of Western extremists to the Holy Quran and the Prophet of Islam.

Iran PressIran News: Last Friday, a group of Swedish right-wing extremists set fire to the Quran, the holy book of more than two billion Muslims in the world, under the pretext of the freedom of speech.

ICESCO is the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization that operates under the aegis of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The statement of the ICESCO National Commission under the Ministry of Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran in condemnation of insults of Western extremists to the Holy Quran is as follows:

Extremism breaks out this time in Sweden! In Western society, claiming to be multicultural and multi-religious, the ugliest act took place by insulting the divine book of the Qur'an, and the rights of the citizens of the European religious minority were attacked by modern violence and ignorance!

ISIS extremism and Western extremism are two forms of neo-colonialism for Islamophobia in order to deceive the public conscience of the Western people and youth.

Is it permissible to insult the Holy Book of Quran, which calls for monotheism, resurrection, morality, human nature, humanity, and peaceful coexistence?

As the request of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in several public letters to the youth of Europe, which we emphasize to be studied by European students, we ask the public conscience of the youth and students of the West to study the Holy Quran and the life of the Prophet of Islam directly to clarify the sinister goal of the Swedish insulter to the Qur'an and the silence of Western governments to this lawlessness to separate religion from life and encourage persecution of Muslims.

The ICESCO National Commission under the Ministry of Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns the repeated and outrageous insults of Western extremists to the Holy Quran and the Prophet of Islam and calls on Western governments and the European Union as the flagship of intellectualism and liberalism to enact restrictive laws and measures against insult the Quran and the Prophet, which is full of violence and harassment in conflict with human rights.
