Iran Press/ Middle East: In an interview with Al-Jazeera on Wednesday night, Ismail Haniyah added: "The decision of the Palestinian resistance during the 'Operation Sword of al-Quds' was to gain access to the entire geography of occupied Palestine, but it stopped its decision following the mediation of Egypt."
"Hamas has told the mediators that the perpetrator must also take responsibility for the ceasefire," he said.
Haniyeh stressed that Palestinian resistance groups, led by Hamas, fought the Quds Sword to support the sit-in protesters at Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinians living in Quds.
According to the report, a senior Hamas official spoke about the Israeli occupying forces' attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque on the 28th of Ramadan and the regime's efforts to force residents of the Sheikh Jarrah area Al-Quds to leave their homes and hand them over to the Israeli settlers.
Haniyeh called on the occupying Israeli regime to receive this message well, stating that the options for the Palestinian resistance are still relevant.
Haniyeh said: "The resistance did not accept that Quds should be on the negotiating table with the Israeli regime for a ceasefire, so it announced to all parties, including the American and Israeli sides, that Quds is a red line."
He noted that the Palestinian resistance had the upper hand in the agreement and had the final say, forcing the Israeli army to withdraw its warning to the residents of the three towers in Gaza and its decision to destroy them.
He stressed that the 'Operation Sword of al-Quds' had overtaken plans to normalize relations and the Oslo Accords, dealt a heavy blow to the so-called 'Deal of the Century', and put the issue of Palestine back on the agenda to the extent that the Security Council, the United Nations, the European Union, and the Arab League met for it.
He said: "Resistance in this operation also thwarted the trick of the occupying army to carry out ground operations in the north.
