The 15th of Shaban, 1441 AH, April 9, 2020 (next Thursday), coincides with the birthday of the twelfth Imam of the Shias of the world, Hazrat Mahdi (as).
One of the most important religious occasions among Muslims especially Shias is the 15th of the eighth Islamic month of Shaban which is the birthday of twelfth Imam of Shia Muslims, Imam Mahdi.
According to Shia beliefs, Imam Mahdi is the prophesied redeemer who will bring peace and justice to the world, and cleanse the world of all corruption.
Mid-Sha’ban, is the 15th of Sha’ban Month, is the birth anniversary of twelfth Shia Imam, Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance).
The occasion of Mid-Shaban is marked by devotion and celebration among Shia Muslims. Imam Mahdi was born on July 29, 869 CE (Shaban 15, 255 AH) in Samarra, a city in modern-day Iraq.
Mid-Shaban has special significance for Muslims throughout the world and is celebrated in Islamic countries such as Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Egypt, Bahrain and Iran.
