Iran Press/America: Lev Parnas, a Ukrainian American business associate of Rudy Giuliani — the former New York City mayor who is now US President Donald Trump's personal defense attorney — has sent shock waves through Washington by implicating senior administration officials in the scheme to bully Ukraine into caving to Trump's personal demands.
In an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday night 15 January, Lev Parnas, the indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani, pointed his finger at everyone from US President Donald Trump and US Vice President Mike Pence, to Devin Nunes and Attorney General William Barr.
Lev Parnas, the indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani who has been implicated in an alleged attempt to pressure the Ukrainian government to dig up dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, clearly said: "President Trump knew exactly what was going on."
"He was aware of all my movements. I wouldn't do anything without the consent of Rudy Giuliani or the president. I have no intent, I have no reason to speak to any of these officials," Parnas, who faces campaign finance charges, told MSNBC.
Trump sought investigations from Ukraine into his political opponents while withholding vital security assistance and a White House meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky desperately wanted. Concerns over his dealings with Ukraine led to his impeachment on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
Parnas appeared in this explosive interview that aired Wednesday 15 January, just one day after the House Intelligence Committee released a trove of documents containing text messages and handwritten notes detailing Parnas' intricate role in the pressure campaign.
For some months, Trump has fought the impeachment inquiry at every turn, blocking witness testimony, denying documents and complaining on Twitter that no president has ever suffered such mistreatment at the hands of his political enemies.
