Iran Press/ West Asia: Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy of International Affairs of Iranian Judiciary, during his visit to the building of the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which was destroyed by the brutal attack of the Zionist regime, stated: "During this trip and in discussions with the Syrian authorities, we will jointly pursue the issue of filing a lawsuit against Zionist criminals within the framework of the judicial system through international organizations and human rights forums."
Gharibabadi further described the Zionist regime's attack on the Iranian consular building in Damascus as completely contrary to international obligations and laws as well as the provisions of the United Nations Charter and noting: "This regime even violated the obligations under the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, and the 1973 Internationally Protected Persons convention."
While criticizing the weak approach of the United Nations Security Council towards the crimes of the Zionists, Gharibabadi emphasized: "Under the provisions of the United Nations Charter, this council has a clear responsibility for maintaining international peace and security, and it should have taken the necessary measures to deal with the usurping Zionist regime, but unfortunately, we witnessed a meeting of the Security Council where some countries such as UK, France and the US did not even condemn the aggression of the Zionist regime."
The Vice-President of the Judiciary for International Affairs added: "In our opinion, the UN Security Council has been very inefficient in maintaining international peace and security as well as fulfilling its duties and responsibilities under the United Nations Charter, and the Islamic Republic of Iran also had the right to legitimate defense based on Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and exercised this right well.
Regarding the response to the Zionist regime's warmongering and True Promise operation, he also said: "With this decisive response, the Iranian armed forces fulfilled the orders of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the expectations of the Iranian nation.
The Deputy for International Affairs of Iran's Judiciary added: "In response to the Zionist regime, Iran only targeted some military sites, and civilian gathering places and economic facilities were not within the scope of the defined targets. In the end, Gharib Abadi said: "The response of the Islamic Republic of Iran was an action under international law and was done in line with human and Islamic principles. The Islamic Republic of Iran has also initiated its political and legal measures in this matter and will follow them seriously. 219
