Why it matters:
Having witnessed the suffering of children in Gaza, the Palestinians have grown more compassionate toward children worldwide, striving to ensure they live in supportive and stress-free conditions.
The big picture:
The initiative, led by the Palestinian Ambassador to Ghana, Abdel Fattah Ahmed Khalil al-Satarri, was to support the beneficiary during ‘Iftar’, evening meals eaten during Ramadan. The food items included bags of rice, cooking oil, spaghetti, sugar, as well as canned foods, including mackerel and corn beef.
What they’re saying:
Kwesi Pratt, the leader of the Socialist Movement of Ghana, hailed the initiative and stated that the people of Ghana would continue to stand with the people of Palestine in their difficult time.
Context:
The Israeli regime began an all-out war on Gaza on October 23. The Israeli strikes have destroyed vital infrastructure in Gaza in addition to the massacre of over 50,000 people. The rest are striving for survival as they are coping with famine and healthcare problems.
