Iran Press/ Middle East: The main focus of Iran's Parliament Speaker trip to Syria is to remove the trade barriers and solve the problems of businessmen and traders to use the economic potential of Syria.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf will meet with senior Syrian officials and business and economic activists of the two countries and pursue economic and trade goals.
During the visit of Iran's Parliament Speaker, Vahid Jalalzadeh, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Abbas Golroo, Member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Ruhollah Motafker Azad, Member of the Board and Education Commission, Mehdi Sharifian, Member of the Social Commission, Ruhollah Nejabat, Member of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of Iran and Syria and Hussein Amir-Abdollahian, Director General of International Affairs of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, accompany Ghalibaf.
Iran's current exports to Syria are estimated at $ 1 billion and by removing trade and economic barriers, the two countries' economic actors can expand their business.
Iran's parliament speaker, before departing Tehran to Damascus, said that "The visit to Syria, which is aimed at negotiating and consulting with high-ranking Syrian officials to strengthen bilateral, regional and international cooperation, is being done at the official invitation of the country and is an opportunity to expand economic, political, and cultural relations with Syria.
"Syria's position is an exceptional opportunity to develop our country's trade and to get closer to the markets of Europe and the Mediterranean. Also, there are great opportunities in the industry, agriculture, tourism, and especially oil," the speaker said.
