Iran Press/ Iran news: Iranian military advisor and IRGC commander, Major General Abbas Nilforoushan was assassinated along with the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in an Israeli strike targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut late in September.
On Monday a mass funeral procession was held in Iraq at the holy shrines in Karbala and Najaf before the body of the late IRGC commander was carried to Iran.
A similar procession was held in Tehran and the holy city of Qom.
After the mass funeral at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (a) the eighth Shia Imam, his body will be transferred to his homeland in Isfahan before the body is laid to rest on Thursday.
