Iran Press/Iran news: In a phone call with the Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli on Sunday 24 May, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani received a report on the latest situation in some provinces and cities in the country where coronavirus spread has grown due to not heeding health protocols by the people, and stressed, "Provinces and cities need to be aware that if they do not follow the rules and regulations of health, we may have to resume some restrictions".
The President also thanked the people for observing health protocols in holding Eid al-Fitr prayers in mosques, stating that it only possible to break the coronavirus spread chain by observing health protocols, saying, "We can hope that the process of reopening holy places and shrines continues".
Rouhani said that with the recent reopening of some centers and businesses, warnings about the observance of health protocols by the people must not stop, adding, "Information agencies, especially the IRIB and the internet, should be used to raise public awareness and information".
Pointing out that reaching the threshold of controlling COVID-19 was due to people's cooperation and full compliance with health protocols, the President said, "The public opinion must not believe that heeding health protocols is not important anymore".
In this phone call, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli also reported on the growing number of patients in one or two provinces and several cities of the country due to not observing health protocols and smart social distancing.
