Iran Press/ Iran News: Mohammad Javad Zarif met with Iraqi National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji on Monday evening, emphasizing Iran's priority in expanding relations with its neighbors, mentioning Iraq as a country with numerous and growing ties with Iran.
"Iran has always respected the independence, security, territorial integrity and integrated sovereignty of Iraq and welcomes its constructive role in regional relations," he said.
"The security of the region is provided by the countries of the region and foreign forces must leave the region," Zarif added.
"The importance of following up on the case of Martyr Lt. General Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis is evident to the Iraqi people. The cooperation between the two countries in this regard can be expanded too,” Zarif said.
Qasim al-Araji, Iraq's national security adviser, also stressed Iraq's determination to expand its comprehensive relations with Iran and appreciated Iran's support in various fields.
Qasim al-Araji, who traveled to Tehran this afternoon (Monday, April 12), met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Traveling to Tehran at the invitation of Ali Shamkhani, he also met with the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council this afternoon to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues.
