Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran says that the US along with Israel is seeking to attack the stability and security of the West Asian region and increase the areas of tension and crisis in the region.

Iran PressIran news: In response to the question of the Iran Press reporter regarding the request of the spokesperson of the US State Department to Iran not to confront the crimes of Israel in Lebanon and Palestine to prevent the escalation of tension in the region, Kanaani said: "The Zionist regime has set traps for messengers that were used for service and communication, and their collective detonation has committed an organized terrorist act and the mass killing of Lebanese citizens, and such an act is undoubtedly capable of international legal and criminal prosecution."

Kanaani stated: "The American Administration has shown once again that it stands behind all the crimes of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian and Lebanese nations. It was also proved that the US Administration, contrary to its deceptive slogans about human rights and its interest in maintaining peace and security in the region, together with the Zionist regime, seeks to create tension in the region, and harm its stability and security."

Kanaani emphasized: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always shown in practice that it has been one of the pillars of establishing and consolidating peace, stability, and security in the region, but it has always acted and responded decisively and within the framework of international law in the face of aggressors, adventurers, and law-breakers.

Explosion of Pagers in Lebanon

Western media have concluded that the Israeli spy agency Mossad planted explosives in the batteries of pagers that exploded in Lebanon, resulting in deaths and injuries on Tuesday evening.

British Sky News channel, quoting exclusive sources, reported that communication devices fell into the hands of Mossad before reaching Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement.

Mossad succeeded in modifying Hezbollah's communication devices before they were handed over to this group, the sources said, adding that Mossad "embedded some highly explosive material known as pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) in the batteries of the devices, which exploded when temperature increased."
