Tokyo(IP)- The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who has traveled to Tokyo, said the negotiations to lift the sanctions should necessitate the return of all parties to their full commitments.

Iran PressIran News:  After months of intense talks in Vienna, the sanctions-lifting negotiations have reached a stage where if the United States, as a party violating the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action(JCPOA), accepts Iran's reasonable demands and the requirements for the formation of a stable and reliable agreement, the final agreement will be reached.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has made the verification of the lifting of sanctions, obtaining guarantees regarding the durability of the JCPOA, and the removal of safeguards claims of the Atomic Agency as its main demands in the negotiations for the lifting of sanctions.

According to Iran Press, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stated in a news conference in Japan that the talks and negotiations that were conducted with the efforts and mediation of the European Union require the return of all parties to their full commitments to the JCPOA.

Amir- Abdollahian also said about the indirect talks with the US, the exchange of prisoners is a humanitarian issue, and Iran has been holding indirect talks with the US since last year.

Regarding the visit to Japan and the relations between the two countries, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran also stated that in the strategy of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, looking at Asia is one of the main priorities of the country's foreign policy, and in this context, the development of relations with the friendly country of Japan is considered. Iran is serious.

Amir- Abdollahian added that Iran and Japan have a great capital including more than a thousand years of people and cultural relations and more than 9 decades of official diplomatic relations, and these historical relations are a strong support for the cooperation of the two countries.

Iran's foreign minister arrived in Tokyo on Sunday night local time for an official visit and meeting with senior Japanese officials and was welcomed by Japanese foreign ministry officials.

Japan's Role in the Middle East

In response to a question about Japan's role in the Middle East and the prospects for Iran-Japan relations, Iran's foreign minister said: We have always had a positive assessment of Japan's people, civilization, and history.

"We believe that due to the positive developments taking place in West Asia, Japan can play a constructive role in the region", the Iranian top diplomat reassured. 

Moreover, he emphasized: Iran has the longest beaches in the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea. Today, the countries of the region have the necessary preparation and will to ensure the security of the Persian Gulf region and energy security in the region. Naturally, we expect that the collective security of the region will be provided well with the strength and capacity of the countries in the region and that Japan will support this policy.

Amir-Abdollahian also stated: Tokyo and Tehran can have stronger cooperation in this framework. We are fully prepared in this regard.

Iran calls on sides to stop war in Ukraine 

Regarding Ukraine, he also stated: The Islamic Republic of Iran has always emphasized its firm and principled position that war is not the solution.

Iran's foreign minister continued: "Since the beginning of the war, we have put efforts at the highest level and the president to stop the war and return the parties to dialogue and a political solution, and in this framework, take active measures."

Amir Abdullahian added: We consider NATO and the provocations of this organization to be one of the main roots of war and crisis. We continue our efforts to stop the war and focus the parties on a political solution.

Iran's defense capabilities

In another part of his speech about Iran's defense capabilities, he said: The Islamic Republic of Iran has a strong defense capability and high technology. Our defense power is used to ensure the maximum national security of the country and the security of our region.

Moreover, referring to the accusations regarding the use of Iranian drones in the war in Ukraine, Amir Abdollahian said: Of course, one of the axes of relations with Russia over the past years has been defense cooperation, but it has never provided Moscow with facilities for the use of Iranian drones or weapons in the war in Ukraine. You know that Russia itself is one of the largest producers and exporters of weapons in the world.

Iran's foreign minister also said: Today, I read a report in Japan that confirms that the weapons used in Ukraine were mostly supplied by America and Western countries.

He added: We have not provided any drones for use in Ukraine to any party. Last year, I personally asked the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, if they have documents in this regard, to present them to the military authorities of my country. We agreed with the foreign minister of Ukraine that the military delegation of my country will travel to Poland and meet with the Ukrainian military authorities in this regard.

The Iranian top diplomat continued: Our military delegation entered Warsaw, but the Ukrainian side did not show up at the meeting place. In a phone call with the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, I said that I made sure that you do not have the alleging document and that the accusations against Iran regarding the use of Iranian drones in the war in Ukraine are completely false.

He clarified: We again agreed with the Foreign Minister of Ukraine that the military delegations of the two countries will meet in Oman. No acceptable document was presented by Ukraine during the military meeting between the two countries. It was agreed that the Ukrainian side will check its documents again and it will be examined in another meeting with the Iranian side.

Amir Abdullahian said: The US and the West should stop baseless accusations against Iran. I think that the common position of Tehran and Tokyo regarding the Ukraine conflict is to stop the war and focus on peace.

Iran's Relations with Russia 

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran also said about the relations between Iran and Russia: Russia is an important neighbor of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In the field of political independence, we follow the motto and model of neither the East nor the West. And within the framework of Iran's interests, we have and will continue to interact and cooperate with the West and the East.

He continued: The priority policy of the neighbors is at the center of the Iranian government's cooperation. In this framework, Russia is also our northern neighbor. Within the framework of international law, the two countries have various cooperations in the commercial, economic, tourism, and other fields, and the neighborhood has created more capacities to pursue this policy.
