The first Islam-specific platform for recording and exchanging knowledge in the Islamic world and among Muslim scholars got operational with the 4th general assembly of COMSTECH Inter-Islamic Network on Virtual Universities (CINVU) kicked off in Tehran on Monday.

The big picture:

As an international research and training network, CINVU along with other Islamic knowledge-based initiatives such as the Mustafa Prize, aims to create educational justice and maintain the scientific authority to help the progress of the OIC countries and empower the Islamic world by providing infrastructure and developing talents.

The Secretary-General of the 4th CINVU general meeting Karim Najafi Barzegar reported that a Quds Committee also has been attached to this edition of the event. 

  • 35 countries announced readiness to participate in the meeting.
  • CINVU meeting has three main committees; Science and Technology, Economy, and Culture.
  • 200 international guests are estimated to participate.
