Kano(IP): Muslims from different Islamic schools of thought in Kano State of Nigeria have held a rally to mark the first anniversary of Operation Al Aqsa Storm, an operation carried out by the Palestinian resistance fighters in retaliation for Israeli crimes against Palestinians.

Iran Press/Africa: In his speech during the program, Barrister Haruna Magashi, a senior legal practitioner in Nigeria and expert on international law explained that the Operation Al Aqsa Flood conducted by the Palestinian resistance last year is in line with the resolution 242 of the United Nations Security Council.

"The resolution of the United Nations says that Israel should move out of the land of Palestine. This is the resolution of the United Nations Security Council. Israel move out of the land of Palestine, your occupation is illegitimate. These are the words of the United Nations. From 1967 to today, Israel continues to ignore the resolution and continues to expand the occupation.

Therefore, we see the action of Palestinian resistance on 7 October 2023 (Al Aqsa Flood), from International law, as enforcement of resolution 242 of the United Nations. It is not a matter of Palestinians doing something wrong or they're against the law.

They're enforcing the resolutions of the United Nations. Palestinian resistance said that if Israel refused to follow the resolution, we would push it back, and get them out of Palestinian land. This is what happened on 7 October 2023," the expert said.

Among the Sunni Islamic scholars who delivered speeches on the occasion were Sheikh Khidir Maraya, Sheikh Hassan Abdulaziz, Sheikh Ishaq Gezawa, Sheikh Sharif Ibrahim, Sheikh Misbahu Sheikh Yusuf Makwarari and a Shi'a scholar, Sheikh Sunusi Abdulqadir Kano. During the closure of the occasion, American and Israeli flags and some products that fund the Zionist regime were burned.
