Iran Press/Europe: Defense officials in Seoul said what appeared to be two short-range ballistic missiles were fired at daybreak from near the northeastern city of Hamhung, flying 400 kilometres before splashing down in the sea, reported AFP.
It was the fifth round of launches in two weeks, with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un calling them a 'solemn warning' over the joint US-South Korean military drills.
"With the launching of two short range ballistic missiles today, a fifth such test in recent weeks, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) continues to undermine international work for building trust and establishing lasting peace and security on the Korean Peninsula, free of nuclear weapons," a spokesperson for the EU said in a statement.

"He really wrote a beautiful, three-page — I mean, right from top to bottom — a really beautiful letter," Trump said. "And maybe I’ll release the results of the letter, but it was a very positive letter."
Trump said the North Korean leader had voiced dissatisfaction in the letter with joint US-South Korean military exercises currently being held on the peninsula.
"He wasn’t happy with … the war games," Trump said adding: "I’ve never liked it either because we should be reimbursed for it"
US officials have said stalled denuclearization talks with the North Koreans will happen 'soon', but have admitted that time and location have yet to be set.
US President and North Korean leader agreed on July 1 to resume denuclearization talks that have been stalled since the collapse of their second summit in Hanoi but no joint declaration or agreements were made after the meeting.
