A senior European Union official has revealed that there is no consensus within the EU working group on whether to designate Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.

Iran Press/Europe: The issue was last discussed two weeks ago, and the outcome was "not conclusive." As a result, it will not be brought before EU ministers at this point.

The official also confirmed that Enrique Mora, not High Representative Josep Borrell, will attend the inauguration of Iran's new president, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian.

The official described the inauguration of a "reformist president" as an important event.

Explaining the decision to send Mora instead of Borrell, the senior official stated that EU relations with Iran are currently at their lowest point.

The official believes that it is not appropriate for the High Representative to attend the inauguration.

The official described Dr. Pezeshkian as appearing to be "quite a reasonable" person, highlighting his campaign rhetoric about seeking to lift sanctions.
