Iran Press/ Iran news: Referring to the recent developments in Afghanistan, Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, wrote in a Twitter message on Wednesday: "The end of any occupation is a humiliating dismissal."
"The fate that befell the United States in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq is also the inevitable fate of the occupying Zionist regime," he added.
The Taliban group is poised to run Afghanistan again 20 years after the US invaded Afghanistan in October 2001 and removed the Taliban from power. American forces occupied the country for about 20 years on the pretext of fighting against the Taliban. But as the US forces left Afghanistan, the Taliban stormed into Kabul, weakened by foreign occupation.
