Iran Press/Middle East: The Iraqi Foreign Ministry spokesman also said that Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hakim held an emergency meeting with his aides and advisers today (Friday) to discuss the recent US military aggression.
A member of the Iraqi parliament announced hours ago that the lawmakers signed a letter, calling for an immediate meeting and a firm and serious stance against the repetitive US violations of Iraqi sovereignty, Iran Press reported.
The Iraqi President Barham Salih condemned the US bombardment of several points in Iraq including the airport under construction in Karbala province and called it the violation of his country’s sovereignty.
The United States launched airstrikes against multiple locations of Iraqi PMU (Hashd al-Shaabi) forces, among the locations hit by was a position in Najaf and three other places south of the capital Baghdad.
The early Friday US airstrikes were carried out about 24 hours after at least 18 PMU forces were killed in air raids targeting an area southeast of the city of al-Bukamal in eastern Syria and near the border with Iraq.
