Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking on the sidelines of a ceremony honoring Iran's Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Industry on Monday, Saeed Namaki said: "As I indicated before, we have no positive evidence of coronavirus in the country, and our colleagues at 36 entry points are actively monitoring and trying to prevent the spread of this virus into the Islamic Republic."
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a global health emergency because of the new coronavirus outbreak, which originated in the city of Wuhan in China.
At least 1,770 people have died in mainland China and five elsewhere - one in Hong Kong, one in the Philippines, one in Japan, one in France and another in Taiwan. More than 71,000 people have been infected worldwide, mostly in China.
