The Bakhtiari tribe of southwestern Iran is one of those tribes which celebrates Yalda Night. Based in Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari province, the Bakhtiari tribe has its own local customs, and commemorates the Night of Yalda.

Bakhtiari women in Yalda night redefine the family's warm heart with ancient rituals belong to the event, dressed in local costumes and visiting family and relatives to celebrate the Night.

Quran reciting, reading Hafez poems, Shahnameh reading, and storytelling are other traditions that Bakhtiari families observe on this special Night of Yalda.

Bakhtiari people put a large pumpkin, the symbol of the sun, on their table to honour this ancient ritual.
