Construction ceremony of Bushehr power plant unit 2 starts
Iran's head of Atomic Energy Organization attended the concreting ceremony of Bushehr nuclear power plant unit 2 in which Russian partners were also present.
The contract for the construction of units 2 and 3 of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant was signed in November 2014 between Nuclear Power Production and Development (NPPD) and the Russian Federation's nuclear power equipment and service exporter, Atomstroyexport.
Concreting of nuclear power plant unit 2 is one of the key steps in the process of implementing this national plan, which is an important step in the development of a nuclear power plant in the country.
This step indicates that more than 30% of the plan is implemented according to the timing of the schedule.
According to the country's long-term plans, the nuclear power plant is designed for the construction and operation of three atomic reactor units. At present, a 1,000-megawatt power plant unit is in operation, which will increase to 3114 megawatts after the commissioning of units 2 and 3.
