Iran supports Zakzaki treatment: Spox

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman said that Iran supports stages of treatment of the Leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, wished good health for the Leader of the Islamic Movement, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaki and his wife and said: "Sheikh Zakzaki's presence outside Nigeria, provides a better opportunity for solving the problems of recent years between the Islamic Movement of Nigeria and its government.

Mousavi added: "Iran is ready to assist Zakzaki and we do everything that is needed in this regard."

Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaki and his wife left for India on Monday for treatment, Iran Press reported.

Sheikh Zakzaki and his wife were arrested on December 13, 2015, in a Nigerian military attack on a Husseiniyah in Zaria. Hundreds of Nigerian Shiites were also killed in the attack.

In recent months, as Zakahi's health has deteriorated, human rights organizations have repeatedly called for the release of Nigeria's Shiite leader.
